New Delhi: Days after videos of Afghan residents desperately clinging on plane and falling to death went viral on social media, a disgusting T-shirt mocking their plight has created wide anger and outrage online.
The horrific T-shirt shows the regressive human behaviour and the extent to which one can plummet to drive benefit out of someone’s woes.
The T-shirt design shows silhouettes of a military aircraft from which 2 people are falling down. Making it look worse is the punchline – ‘Kabul Skydiving Club Est 2021’.
Days ago, a tragic video of 3 people falling from US military plane C-17 in Kabul hogged international attention, post-Taliban takeover.
The offensive & repugnant tees have been advertised on some online clothing stories including Tee4Sport & TShirtAtLowPrice.com.
As Afghans are fleeing and clinging to planes out of desperation, someone decided to capitalize on their pain and misery with this repulsive t-shirt.
It’s being sold on at least half a dozen t-shirt printing websites right now. Humans can be so cruel. pic.twitter.com/du5cCbD2QA

Exploiting Afghan’s misery for commercial gains is totally inhuman and insensitive, however, the makers tried to mitigate the pain by saying in description, “We were truly heartbroken and empathetic with the horrifying death of 2 people falling from the plane and it was a shock when the rest of the world understand how the people of Afghanistan are facing the situation over there.”
The shirts apparently come in a variety of colours and range in size from small to 5XL, reported a portal.
Netizens furious over repugnant tees
The repulsive & repugnant tees drew a lot of condemnation from the internet community. Many of them blasted such an attempt to glorify and money-making opportunism out of a humanitarian crisis.

cruelty is banal. don’t amplify it here. post about the artists raising millions for flights out of Hell. pic.twitter.com/H3xlUTkmuh

Are we so desensitized that we find humor in a tragedy unfolding before our eyes. To think just for a moment the sophie’s choice these people were in you might have some compassion. I feel like I’ll never know people who feel as I do

Oh the innate need of making money out of misery is known, but the pressure to be differently funny & humorous can make people buy such t-shirts totally evades me !
