New Delhi: British foreign minister James Cleverly, currently on a visit to terror-hit Israel, had a brush with real-time war scenario as he was forced to abandon his ‘open-sky meeting’ and rush for shelter, in wake of an incoming Hamas missile.
The UK minister had gone to Southern part of Israel to express solidarity with the nation, days after Hamas terrorists ambushed its cities in October 6 attack and massacred many of its civilians in an unprecedented terror assault.
Finding himself ‘caught’ in the Israel-Hamas missile crossfire, the British minister along with associated ran for cover in a building, as sirens blared up and warned about an incoming Hamas rocket fire.
The viral video shows James Cleverly and a group of dignitaries running into a building as air sirens blared in Ofakim.

Earlier, a UK foreign office spokesperson said, “The Foreign Secretary has arrived in Israel today to demonstrate the UK’s unwavering solidarity with the Israeli people following Hamas’ terrorist attacks.”
Notably, Israel has found unequivocal support from many Western countries including UK & US, following the horrendous assault & murder of civilians at the hands of Hamas terrorists.
The video captures the alarming & appalling situation in Israel as its cities remain under constant threat of bombardment & missile attack.
The UK Minister also took to X (formerly called Twitter) to share about ‘frightening experience’. He said every Israeli man, woman & child was living under constant threat from Gaza rockets.
He called his experience ‘one moment of terror’, which the Israelis have been facing daily since October 6 attack.
Notably, Israel has vowed to retaliate and take full seize of the Gaza strip. It has been bombarding & vapoursing Hamas terror hideouts in Gaza strip and blowing up its key buildings & infrastructure.
Hamas, in response has kept up with its aggressive action and has been firing barrage of rockets in Ashkelon province in Israel.
