VIDEO: South Korean Prez croons ‘American Pie’ at White House, Joe Biden impressed

US President Joe Biden, also overwhelmed with performance, greeted & lauded his South Korean counterpart for amazing singing skills.

New Delhi: It was a rare evening at the White House in United States, where the visiting head of a country crooned a song leaving the American hosts surprised & spellbound.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, who was on a six-day visit to the United States, concluded his tour on a memorable note. He sang Don McLean’s ‘American Pie’ song at the White House, in presence of US President & several distinguished guests from both nations.

Reports suggest that the impromptu performance by South Korean President even left Joe Biden surprised & stunned as no one anticipated such a melodious evening at the White House.

Yoon Suk Yeol was accompanied by his wife Kim Keon Hee. Before the singing session, the dignitaries moved to the State dining room. And, those who joined Yeol in the memorable song included Broadway stars Norm Lewis, Lea Salonga and Jessica Vosk.

The melodious rendition of the song by Yoon Suk Yeol invited standing ovation and big round of applause from the audience.

US President Joe Biden, also overwhelmed with performance, greeted & lauded his South Korean counterpart for amazing singing skills.

The 62-year-old Yoon admitted that Don McLean was one of his favourite singers and revealed that the song was released when he was in school.

American President Joe Biden also presented him with a guitar signed by the writer of the song Don McLean.

However, this was not the first ‘public performance’ by Yoon. In 2021, he appeared on a local TV show and sang K-pop ballad “No one else” during the campaign.
