New Delhi: Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai took everyone by surprise as she confirmed that she has got married in a small nikkah ceremony at Birmingham home.
“Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead,” Yousafzai tweeted.

In the pics shared on the social media platforms, Malala was seen wearing a tea pink outfit paired with simple jewellery. Her husband is Asser wore a simple suit and matched his tie to her outfit.
Her Twitter feed was soon flooded with congratulatory messages, with SM users wondering who is Asser Malik.
Who is Asser Malik ?
As per his LinkedIn profile, Malik is a ‘General Manager High Performance’ at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Malik joined the organization in May 2020.
According to Dawn, Asser Malik is also the owner of the Last Man Stands franchise in Pakistan. He is a graduate in economics and political science from the Lahore University of Management Sciences and has worked with brands such as Coca Cola and FrieslandCampina.
How long Malala and Asser have known each other ?
Though Malala and Asser have been quiet about their relationship on the social media, as per the news reports the duo have known each other since 2019.
In June 2019, Asser had shared a group picture of himself along with Malala, Waqar Younis and others at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in an Instagram post.
