New Delhi: Donald Trump has become the first former US President to face criminal charge after being indicted by a New York grand jury over alleged hush money payment for adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Stormy Daniels claimed that she had a sexual encounter with Trump, way back in 2006, after he got married with Melania. As the disclosures had potential to ruin Trump’s Presidential chances in 2017 elections, a hush money of $1,30,000 was paid to her for staying silent on the fling.
Though, Trump has denied any relationship with the adult film actress, his lawyer Michael Cohen reportedly admitted that an amount of $1,30,000 was transferred from a Trump organization to her account.
Who is Stormy Daniels, who got Trump indicted?
Stormy Daniels is an adult film actress whose real name is Stephanie Gregory Clifford. She reportedly told a portal that she met Trump at a charity golf tournament in July 2016, following which she was invited by the latter at his suite for dinner.
The porn star also claimed that Trump invited her to appear on his TV show show ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ and then started making sexual overtures to her.
The 44-year-old Stormy Daniels got married to another adult film star Barrett Blade last year and has a daughter from previous marriage. She was brought up in Louisiana. Recalling her ‘tough days’, she says that she worked at striptease clubs to support herself financially during high school.
She was raised by her mother, after parents separated. In a memoir she wrote in 2018, she said that she felt ignored & neglected by her family. She also informed that she was sexually assaulted at a tender age of 9.
In 2009, Daniels threw her hat in the ring from Louisiana seat in US Senate elections.
