Xi Jinping’s last minute absence from key speech at BRICS summit sparks speculation

The speech was given by Commerce Minister Wang Wentao instead.

New Delhi: China’s President Xi Jinping’s absence from a much-anticipated speech at the BRICS summit has caused quite a stir in International politics.

According to the report, the Chinese media and officials were also caught off guard by this absence which represents that the absence was unexpected and last minute.

Rumors have it that health concerns might be the reason behind the president’s absence as this kind of tactic is not something the Beijing government uses at any event.

The reason behind Xi Jinping’s absence is still a mystery and none of the Chinese officials have made any comments on this unexpected event.

However, President Xi Jinping’s absence does not mean that China did not participate in the speech. The speech was instead delivered by China’s Commerce Minister Wang Wentao, whose speech was direct strong remarks against the United States.

As per he reports the speech that was delivered by Commerce Minister Wang Wentao was originally written by President Xi Jinping only who was not able to deliver it by himself.

During the speech Commerce Minister Wang Wentao was constantly attacking the United Nations saying some nations are not only obsessed with their development but also obsessed with bringing others down.

He further added that blowing off another’s lamp will not fuel yours, so please stop doing things to pull others down.

The chances of knowing the reason behind Xi Jinping’s strange absence stand very low as the Chinese president after missing the speech returned for the dinner with his following BRICS member nation’s delegates.
