Magh Purnima celebration in Prayagrag: Govt showers flower petals on devotees (VIDEO)
Prayagraj District Administration showered flower petals on devotees at Triveni Sangam, also known as Sangam Ghat, the meeting place of 3 rivers -- the Saraswati, Yamuna, and Ganga (Ganges).
New Delhi: On the occasion of ‘Magh Purnima’ festival, devotees across Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand gathered at Sangam in Prayagraj and took holy dips in the revered River Ganga.
Thousands of devotees performed rituals at the Sangam during the annual traditional fair of Magh Mela. Devotees in Prayagraj and Haridwar were seen observing the holy occasion by offering diyas (lamps) in the water.

Magh Purnima is celebrated around the months of January and February and Lord Vishnu is worshipped during this time.
The day is considered to be auspicious and it is believed that those who perform ritual baths and offer prayers on this day will be granted wealth and fortune.
