Navratri 2022 Vijayadashami Muhurat Everything you need to know about this day

New Delhi: Vijayadashami also known as Dussehra or Ravan Dahan is celebrated every year on the last or the 10th day of the Ashwini month. Vijayadashami comes after after the nine-day of Navratri celebration.

Vijayadashami is celebrated as the victory of Lord Rama over Demon Ravana and also triumph of Goddess Durga over the buffalo Demon Mahishasura.

Vijayadashami or Dussehra is observed on the shukla paksha Dashami during Ashwin lunar month. are observed on shukla paksha Dashami during Ashwin lunar month.

However, Dussehra is not a part of Navratri or Durga Puja, but it is linked to it because it is celebrated on the next day when idols of Goddess Durga are immersed in holy water bodies.

On this day, rituals such as Shami Puja, Aparajita Puja and Seema Avalanghan are don on Vijayadashami.

It is believed that on this day these rituals should be done during Aparahna time or shubh or auspicious time or muhurat.

This year Vijaydashami will be celebrated on October 5th, Wednesday.

According to Drikpanchang, Vijaydashami Muhurat is 02:07pm to 02:54 pm.
