Kia follows Hyundai to support Kashmir’s freedom; netizens demand Boycott Kia

Although Hyundai India has released a statement to clarify its stance on Kashmir matter, Kia is yet to issue any official statement on social media.

New Delhi: Following Hyundai Pakistan’s tweet on Kashmir, Kia motors in Pakistan also said on social media that it supports the freedom of Kashmir. However, the message shared by Kia further enraged the citizens of India. Since morning, the hashtag demanding ‘Boycott Kia’ has been trending on social media.

The controversial tweet was shared on Twitter by  Kia Motors Crossroads – Hyderabad on February 5. Many users criticizing the company suggested buying Made in India vehicles such as Tata, Mahindra, and Honda.

Notably, both the companies are connected to each other. Hyundai is reportedly the parent company of Kia Motors.

In the beginning, Hyundai was being trolled for its controversial message on Kashmir. The Facebook post of Hyundai Pakistan said, ”Praying for the liberation of our eternally beautiful Kashmir today and always!”

However, Hyundai India released a statement to clarify its stance on the matter on Sunday. So far, Kia’s has not released any official statement on its social media account.

The day Hyundai Pakistan shared the post, it is celebrated as the ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ in Pakistan. It reportedly marks the support and unity of Kashmiri separatists’ effort to secede from India.
