Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 Launched in India: Check specs, price and more about country’s most expensive EV

The battery of Mercedes AMG EQS 53 can be charged 10-80% in just 30 minutes with the help of a DC charger.

New Delhi: Mercedes AMG EQS 53 was launched on Wednesday by Mercedes-Benz in India at 12:30 PM. It is claimed to be India’s most expensive EV at present. The company has promised to launch a non-AMG version of the car — EQS 580 — in the country that will be assembled locally. However, the price of the latest Mercedes EV is Rs 88 lakh higher than the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Rs 1.46 crore more than the EQC — Mercedes’ other EV on sale in India.

The car is 5,223 mm long and 1,9266 mm wide. The height of the Mercedes new Sedan is 1,515 mm. One gets a wheelbase of 3,210 mm and 610 litres of Cargo space.

The Mercedes AMG EQS 53 is equipped with a 107.8kWh lithium-ion battery. The battery is said to last up to 580 kms in ideal conditions. The motor of the EQS 53 produces 762 hp and 1020 Nm of torque. It is reported that the car reaches 0-100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds. The top speed of the car is claimed to be 250kph.

The battery of the car can be charged 10-80% in just 30 minutes with the help of a DC charger. On the battery, the German Car maker offers a warranty of up to 10 years.

Mercedes AMG EQS 53 feature, colour and price

The new EV by Mercedes can be availed in six colour options that include — Nautic blue metallic, Graphite grey metallic, Obsidian black metallic, Selenite grey magno, Hyacinth red metallic and Diamond white bright.

The EV features Active Emergency Stop Assist, Active Lane Changing Assist, Active Emergency Stop Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Steering Assist, and Active Distance Assist, and 15 speakers. The seats of the car are covered with nappa leather.

For the safety of its customer, the Mercedes-AMG EQS is equipped with 9 airbags. As for as the price is concerned, the car will be sold at a price of Rs 2.45 crore (ex-showrrom).
