New Delhi: Toyota launched its first midsize SUV in India namely the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder on Friday. The car has jointly been built with another famous car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki. Notably, the booking for the car has already been commenced in the country at a price of Rs 25,000 through offline and online modes.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder features and engine details
The new Toyota car is available in two petrol engines. The 1.5-litre K-Series mild-hybrid petrol motor with the integrated starter motor-generator belts out about 100bhp and 135 Nm of peak torque, while paired with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre strong hybrid motor with the Toyota Hybrid System and e-drive transmission. This engine develops 91 bhp and 122 Nm of peak torque and is assisted by an electric motor churning out 79 bhp and 141 Nm of instant torque.
The electric motor of the car derives power from a 177.6Volt lithium-ion battery pack which is claimed to offer a range of up to 25 km. According to Toyota, the SUV offers overall fuel efficiency of 24-25 km per litre. For the safety of its customers, Toyota has provided four disc brakes, hill descent control, six airbags, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. If we look at some other features of the car so the buyers will get a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging support, 9-inch standing touchscreen infotainment system, voice assists with Google and Siri compatibility, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, electronic stability control, cruise control and tyre pressure monitoring system.
On the colour front, the company offers 7 monotone and 4 dual-tone colour options such as gaming grey, speedy blue, cafe white with midnight black, and sporting red with midnight black.

In the market, there are four variants of the car. The price for the base variant starts from Rs 15.11 lakh and goes up to 18.99 lakh.
