On the basis of data available in the reports, we could say Maruti Suzuki continues to dominate the sales chart in comparison to other brands of cars.

1. Maruti  Wagon R

Maruti’s one of the most popular hatchback cars, Wagon R topped the list of the most purchased cars in India. Maruti sold 16,814 units of the hatchback model in May. In the same month of 2021, it sold only 2,086 units.

2. Tata Nexon

Nexon, one of the best creations of Tata Motors in the sub-compact SUV segment, placed itself in the top class of sport utility vehicles. Tata sold 14,614 units of the SUV last month.

3. Maruti Swift

Swift is the second hatchback car Maruti that managed to attract a lot of buyers. Maruti sold 14,133 units of Swift in May 2022.

4. Maruti Baleno

Maruti Baleno comes at no. four with a sales figure of 13,970 units in May.

5. Maruti Alto 

The sales number of Maruti’s Alto shows that the car is still the people’s choice, making it the oldest surviving car model in India. Maruti sold 12,933 units of Alto in May.

6. Maruti Ertiga

Despite the reduction in sales units of Maruti Ertiga it managed to secure 6th position in the list with 12,226 units sold in India. In the month of April 2022, the company sold 14,889 units of Ertiga.7

7. Maruti Dzire

In the segment of sedan cars, Maruti Dzire’s still dominates in the market with 11,603 units sold in India in May. The sale units of the cars has also gone up from 10,701 units in April.

8. Hyundai Creta 

At the 8th spot, Hyundai’s flagship SUV Creta comes with 10,973 units sold in India in May. However, the sale has declined compared to 12,651 units of the SUV in April 2022.
