Edtech company Byju’s to acquire Vedantu for USD 600-700 Million

For Raveendran-run world’s leading edtech company, this would be the fourth major acquisition this year.

In a significant acquisition by leading online learning platform Byju’s, is in talks with online learning platform Vedantu for around $600-$700 million, as per the news agency IANS.

The deal is forging ahead and should transpire soon after meeting with necessary approvals.

For Raveendran-run world’s leading edtech company, this would be the fourth major acquisition this year. On its flagship learning app, Byju’s has  100 million registered students.

Earlier this year, it obtained Aakash Institute for nearly $1 billion. Last month, it acquired Singapore headquartered Great Learning for $600 million.

In an another major acquisition,  Byju’s acquired ‘Epic’ for $500 million. Epic is one of the world’s leading digital reading platform for kids under 12 years of age.

The serial aquisition came into pro in August last year when Byju’s acquired Mumbai-based live online coding provider WhiteHat Jr in a deal worth $300 million.
