New Delhi: At the Reliance 45th AGM meet on Monday, Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani laid out a clear roadmap about the role & leadership roles that 3 children of the family Anand, Isha & Anant Ambani will undertake over next few years.
As per the ‘succession plan’, all three young Ambanis will take charge of different business verticals and will work towards next big leap of the company.
The billionaire industrialist introduced daughter Isha Ambani as the leader of conglomerate’s retail business while Akash has been given leadership role in the company’s telecom business, which is gearing up mega 5G launch. Akash is already the chairman of Reliance Jio.
Younger son Anant Ambani has joined Energy business and is being groomed for leadership role, said Ambani.
“Our next-gen leaders are confidently taking over the reins across businesses. Akash and Isha have assumed leadership roles in Jio and Retail respectively. Anant has also joined our New Energy business with great zeal,” the 65-year-old chairman of RIL said.
“All of them are being mentored on a daily basis by RIL’s senior leaders, including Chairman and the Board of Directors,” he added.
Mukesh Ambani had stepped down from Reliance Jio in June, to making way for Akash to take over as the chairman.
Addressing the AGM, Mukesh Ambani also said that the company has a well-oiled governance system to ensure accountability at all levels. Ambani said that Reliance is forever hungry for top-notch talent from India and around the world.
