New Delhi: The cryptocurrency market continues to be in the red on August 27. The global cryptocurrency market cap, as of today, stands at $2.02 trillion, registering a drop of 3.31% over last day while the total crypto market volume accounted for $111.08 billion, a decrease of 1.82% in past 24 hours.
Talking to specific digital currencies, Bitcoin continues to lose its sheen with the crypto slumping upto 2.81% in past 24 hours. Earlier this week, the crypto had surged to $50,000.
The fall in world’s most popular cryptocurrency is a stark drop from its all-time high figure of $65,000. In April, Bitcoin hit this whopping figure while in June, it sharply plunged to about $ 28,000, apparently precipitated by Chinese ban on corporates, crypto mining.
“Bitcoin has broken out of the rectangle pattern after 12 weeks of consolidation. Key Levels for Bitcoin – Resistance – $53,000, Support – $41,000,”Siddharth Menon, COO WazirX said.
Ethereum, another popular digital currency also logged sharp fall with crypto shedding its value by 2.81%. Compared to last week, the crypto is down almost 3.5% and its market cap stood at $366.28.72 billion.
According to ZebPay’s trade desk, Ethereum faces a stiff resistance at $3,335. Another important event which may adversely affect cyrpto prices is the ETH options expiry due tomorrow, as it may have strong bearig on prices.
Cardano is the third crypto to register sharp drop of 4.52%. The crypto was trading at $2.59, though its value has increased by 6.89% over last week. Binance Coin was trading higher at 12.13% over last week and its market cap stood at at $81.3 billion.
