“Government is alert, No need to panic”: Harsh Vardhan on new strain of coronavirus in UK

There are six Covid-19 vaccines in different clinical trial stages in India. Besides, three vaccine candidates are in pre-clinical trial stages.

New Delhi: The Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Monday said that the government is alert about the discovery of the new strain of coronavirus in UK and there is no need to panic.

Earlier, he had said that coronavirus vaccine cannot be forced upon anyone but the government will educate and give the right information to people about it, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Sunday.

“Vaccine hesitancy issues will be addressed through education. The government will spread awareness and educate people about the vaccine that this is for their own good and benefit,” Harsh Vardhan said in an interview with ANI.

“The government will reach out to people to get their vaccines but if someone does not want to take the vaccine, they cannot be forced,” he added.
