New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending Aligarh Muslim University’s (AMU) centenary celebrations as the chief guest on December 22. The event will be held online.

In a letter to the “staff, students and other members of the AMU fraternity”, Vice-Chancellor Tariq Mansoor appealed to “all concerned to keep centenary programme above politics, just as we keep Republic Day, Independence Day, Milad un Nabi, Gandhi Jayanti above differences”.

Speaking to ANI, AMU Public Relations Officer (PRO) Omar Saleem Peerzada said, “A centenary celebration is a landmark event in the history of any university. We are celebrating this event following all protocols of the COVID-19 pandemic. There are webinars, seminars and symposiums going on.”
