New Delhi: Given that the single screen theatres and multiplexes are reopening in different states, and OTTs coming up with newer and exciting content every month, it has been a double treat for the movie lovers.

Like Hindi film industry, the south cinema is reviving its work too in full swing, after suffering a blow during the spike of the pandemic. Though, amidst the uncertainty regarding the Omicron variant of Covid-19, movies are getting released in the theatres as well as on OTT platforms to keep their viewers glued to their screen.

Here, we’ve sorted some movies releasing on various platforms for you to binge watch in December:

1. Pushpa: The Rise

Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer crime thriller ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ is based on red sandalwood smuggling in the Seshachalam hills of Andhra Pradesh. The Telugu movie is all set for a grand theatrical release along on December 17, along with dubbed version in five different languages including Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.

2. Shyam Singha Roy

Much awaited period-drama Shyam Singha Roy, featuring natural star Nani, Sai Pallavi in the lead roles is slated for a theatrical release on the special occasion of Christmas Eve, December 24. Madonna Sebastian, Krithi Shetty, Murali Sharma, Rahul Ravindran and Abhinav Gomatam will also be seen in pivotal roles in the film helmed by Rahul Sankrityan.

3. Lakshya

Sports drama Lakshya, which marks the 20th film of actor Naga Shaurya is all set to premiered in theatres on December 10. Santhossh Jagarlapudi directorial also features Ketika Sharma, Jagapathi Babu, Sachin Khedekar, Satya, and Ravi Prakash in crucial roles.

4. Murungaikkai Chips

Directed by Srijar, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj and Athulya Ravi-starrerMurungakkai Chips will be screened in the theatres on December 10. The plot of the film revolves around the first-night of a newly-wedded, and what the family of both the sides tell their son and daughter to do.

Director turned actor Samuthirakani  be seen playing the role of a cop-cum-writer at a police station in his upcoming film titled ‘Writer’. The film that also stars Hari Krishnan, Lizzie Antony and Maheshwari in pivotal roles will hit cinema halls on December 24.
