New Delhi: The India Film Festival of Melbourne is the biggest film festival outside India. Its 14th edition has been recently announced and is going to be held in Melbourne, Australia. Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher’s starrer Ghoomer is going to feature in this Indian Film Festival this year as an opener film for the festival. The festival will take place from August 11 to August 20, 2023. The festival will witness some mesmerizing performances during its opening night with a remarkable cinematic experience.

The movie has an engaging storyline, it is a story of the journey of a paraplegic sportsperson who is guided by her coach. Actor Saiyani Kher has played the lead role of the cricketer in the film and Abhishek Bachchan has played the role of her coach. Other than Saiyami and Abhishek, Angad Bedi and Sabana Azmi are also there in significant roles. Directed by R Balki, the movie will be the opener at the MelbourneFilm Festival in Australia.
A joint statement given by actor Abhishek Bachchan and director Balki said it is an honor for us that Ghoomer will be the opening film at the Indian Film Festival. Ghoomer is the story of converting adversities into opportunity, a story of innovation. It is a tribute to sport and reservior of human resillence . It is the best for the film to be premiered in Melbourne, the sports capital of the world.
Saiyami Kher who has played the lead in the film said Im thrilled and extremely honoured that the movie is going be an opner for the Indian Film Festival, this is the film very close to my heart. Palying the character of a sports person was always her dream, she added. She has been manifesting it from the start of her carrer as an actor said the actress.
