Ajay Devgn turns director for 4th time after immense praise for Runway 34, Hindi remake of this Tamil film set to release soon

New Delhi: Actor-director Ajay Devgn, after receiving immense appreciation for his last project ‘Runway 34’, featuring Rakul Preet Singh and Megastar Amitabh Bachchan along with him, is set to turn director for yet another film named ‘Bholaa’.

The actor who has helmed movies like Shivaay, Runway 34, and U, Me aur Hum in the past, has not made any official announcement regarding his upcoming project but the news has been confirmed by the concerned production house.

The recent reports suggest that Bholaa will feature Ajay Devgn and Tabu in the lead roles, the duo has worked together in critically acclaimed Drishyam, which is a remake of the Malayalam language thriller by the same name.

Is Bholaa a remake? 

Like Drishyam, Bholaa is also a remake of superhit Tamil language movie Kaithi, an action thriller directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj in the year 2019.

The original film was produced under the banner of Dream Warrior Pictures and Vivekananda Pictures. The plot of the film revolves around a prisoner completing his sentence, who comes to rescue the police officials when a gang of smugglers attack them. In return, the cops helps him to meet his daughter.

The cast of the blockbuster movie features Karthi, Arjun Das, Deepthi, Narain, and others in the lead roles.

Meanwhile, when asked about he was able to finish the shoot of the film so quickly after the theatrical release of his court drama Runway 34, Devgn told media, “Well the preparation was done earlier on. It was just a question of getting behind the camera again and saying the three magic words-Lights, camera, action!”.

On the work front, Devgn was last seen suspense drama Runway 34 released in 2022, and will next be seen in Indra Kumar’s Thank God alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh.
