New Delhi: The production of Allu Arjun’s most awaited film ‘Pushpa: The Rule’ is put on a hold. The sequel to ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ is put on hold due to the ongoing stoppage of work called by the producers’ union in the Telugu film industry. The filmmakers had a plan of taking the movie into production in the third week of August. However, the producers have decided to wait till the matter is resolved.
The matter is expected to be resolved soon and reportedly the film will go on the floor at the beginning of September. As of now, the makers are just waiting for the strike to get over.
The producers in the Telugu film industry decided to put all film shootings on hold until they come up with solutions to certain problems. The problems raised during the strike include a rise in production cost, declining footfalls at the box office, regulations on ticket prices and growing challenges from the OTT platforms.
The film revolves around a labourer who rises through the ranks of a smuggling syndicate, infuriating some powerful forces in the process. The protagonist Pushpa Raj is played by Allu Arjun, while the movie stars Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli and Fahadh Faasil as Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. The film also features Ajay Ghosh, Rao Ramesh and others in supporting roles.
Helmed by Sukumar, the sequel will feature a clash between Pushpa Raj and Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. The film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and is expected to release in 2023.
