New Delhi: Punjabi entertainment industry’s iconic figure Diljit Dosanjh and Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra’s upcoming biographical film Amar Singh Chamika is one of the most anticipated OTT movies of 2024.
In the film, Diljit will step into the shoes of 80’s renowned Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila. At the same time, the Ishaqzadee actress will be seen playing the character of Amar’s wife Amarjeet Kaur.

Amar Singh Chamkila on OTT
Netflix India has announced that Amar Singh Chamika will start streaming on Netflix from April 12, 2024. The OTT giant confirmed the digital release date of the film with a social media post shared through its official Instagram handle on Monday.
In the date announcement post, Netflix dropped an engaging promo of the Diljit starrer and attached it with a caption that read, “Maahaul bann jaata tha jab vo chedda tha saaz, Kuch aisa hi tha Chamkila ka Andaaz”. The caption of the post further reads. AmarSinghChamkila arriving on 12 April, only on Netflix!”

About Amar Singh Chamkila
Helmed by the famed movie director Imtiyaz Ali, Amar Singh Chamkila is based on the life story of late Punjabi singing sensation Amar Singh and his spouse Amarjot Kaur who were once hailed rockstars and were the most famed singers of Punjab back in the 80s. It will also also throw light on the infamous assassination of the couple along with some other members of their band which took place in 1998 and to this day is an unsolved mystery.
Besides Diljit and Parineeti, the film also features several hardworking actors including Anjum Batra, Apinderdeep Singh, and Nisha Bano in its stellar cast. It is produced by Mohit Choudhary and AR Rehman is the man behind its music direction.
