Animal OTT release: Here’s why Bobby Deol and Ranbir Kapoor might not kiss each other in film’s digital premiere on Netflix

In a recently held interview, Animal’s antagonist Bobby Deol, who is receiving heaps of praise for his exceptional role in the film, made a shocking revelation about the movie

New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor’s crime drama Animal is one of the most successful films of 2023. In just a matter of 16 days, the crime-drama has shattered several records at the box office to amass a whopping Rs 817.36 crore, becoming the third-highest-grossing Indian flick of the year next to SRK’s Jawan & Pathan.

However, despite amassing colossal amounts of rupees at the BO, the movie has also received significant criticism from people who are slamming it for showcasing unnecessary nudity and glorifying misogyny.

Meanwhile, in a recently held interview, Animal’s antagonist Bobby Deol, who is receiving heaps of praise for his exceptional role in the film, made a shocking revelation about the movie.

During the interview, the 54-year-old veteran actor said that Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s directorial climax part originally had a scene that featured Ranbir Kapoor (Vijay) kissing Bobby Deol (Abrar). However, the same scene was deleted by the director during the last cut of the movie.

Animal’s OTT version not to feature deleted scenes?

Bobby further disclosed that despite being deleted from the film’s theatrical versions, the scene featuring him and Ranbir kissing each other might be included in the movie’s OTT version on its digital partner Netflix.

This got all the fans excited and curious to see the extended cut version of the film in which Bobby and Ranbir would be seen kissing each other during their brutal fight in the concluding part of the crime drama.

However, to the disappointment of all the fans, Animal’s OTT version is most probably going to be exactly the same as its theatrical version, and the reason behind it is a recently announced new policy by Netflix.

As per the new policy, the OTT giant will now only release the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) approved version of Indian movies globally. This means that the digital platform won’t be featuring uncut & uncensored versions of Indian movies anymore.

In its stellar cast. the movie features several prominent actors including Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Triple Dimri  & Rashmika Mandanna. It was released on the big screens on December 1, 2023.
