New Delhi: The new mystery thriller series Anthracite is set in a small Alps village thirty years after a cult’s members committed mass suicide in 1994. The villagers continue to face the hazardous aftermath of the tragedy.

Anthracite mining, murders, and ominous mountain cults abound throughout the series, making it both exciting and bone-chilling to watch.

Plot

Thirty years after a mountain cult committed mass suicide, a woman is similarly killed in Anthracite, which examines the twisted consequences of that event. Notable news coverage surrounded the mass suicide that occurred in the Alps, close to an anthracite mine and a picturesque, rural village. The protagonist, Jaro Gatsi, is a former motocross champion turned juvenile criminal who is looking to make amends and start again.

But suspicions arise due to his past and his relative newness to the region, and Jaro quickly finds himself falsely accused of murder. Ida, a young, socially awkward lady with a kind heart and a mission in life, helps him out. Her father, a journalist, was kidnapped while researching a cult, and she is in the town to find out what happened to him.

For their own purposes, they both support one another. However, the mountain community is in peril as the truth behind the tragedy thirty years ago is gradually revealed, as the stakes are raised and individuals in masks appear in town.
