New Delhi: Singer-composer Anu Malik started trending on Twitter after Israeli gymnast Artem Dolgopyat won Israel’s second gold medal artistic gymnastics in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. The clip of Israeli National Anthem being played after Dolgopyat’s win, went insanely viral on the social media, especially among Indian followers.
Anu Malik is being called out on Twitter for plagiarizing Israel’s national anthem titled Hatikvah for his song Mera Mulk Mera Desh from Ajay Devgn’s 1996 film Diljale.
It wasn’t just 1 or 2 Twitter users but hundreds of users are agreeing over the fact, that the 1996 song ‘Mera Desh, Mera Mulk’s music was the exact copy of Israeli National Anthem tune.
Netizens got to know this after 25 years through social media. Many netizens slammed the composer for ‘copying’, ‘stealing’ from another country’s national anthem and poked fun at him.
Check out some social media reactions of the controversy:

Here is another example of how Bollywood has been fooling its audiences with duplicity.

Anu has been accused of plagiarising music on several occasions in the past. Songs like Dil Mera Churaya Kyun, Kaho Na Kaho, Neend Churayi Meri and Nasha Ye Pyar Ka Nasha are a few songs that appear to be ‘inspired’ by international songs.
