As multiplexes welcome cine lovers, a clash of Bollywood and Hollywood movies… List here

Most major budget Bollywood movies are set to release on theatres, following the announcement of reopening of cinema halls in Maharashtra. However, several Bollywood and Hollywood movies will clash at the box offices.

New Delhi: The announcement of the reopening of movie theatres from October 22 by the Maharashtra government came as a relief to most Bollywood stars and directors. For the past 18 months due to the Covid-19 imposed restrictions, no movies have been released in the cinema halls.

Several movies have been stacked for their big-screen release and with the announcement, directors are announcing their releases soon. Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi is the first major announcement that came to the notice of the audience.

However, the schedule of the release windows has gone a little topsy-turvy as multiple major budget films will see their release on the same day.

Reportedly, casting director Kunal Shah stated that two big films releasing together may affect the major releases. However, it is normal. “In the present scenario, two big films releasing simultaneously is even better for the industry as people can watch either this or that. It will bring more people out from the comfort of their homes,” he added.

Here are some of the films that will clash with each other at the Box office:

RRR v/s Gangubai Kathiawadi:

Gangubai Kathiawadi

Sharing the poster of the film along with the release date to its fans, the much-anticipated film, RRR will hit the theatres on January 7, 2022. This film is directed by SS Rahamouli, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan. On the other hand, Sanjay Leela Bansali’s directorial, Gangubai Kathiawadi featuring Alia Bhatt will release on January 6, 2020. Thus, the two box office releases are tending to confuse the audience as much as the critics.

Annaatthe v/s Sooryavanshi v/s Eternals:

Rajinikanth starring Annaatthe will clash with Rohit Shetty’s directorial Sooryavanshi featuring Akshay Kumar. However, what’s more bigger than that is they both will be competing with Marvel’s Eternals. Eternals stars Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden among others. All three films are ready to hit the theatres on Diwali.

Inspired by Lord Rama, the film Adipurush will feature Prabhas in the lead beside Kriti Sanon as Sita and Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist, Lankesh. Aanand L Rai directorial Raksha Bandhan will star Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar. Both the films will release on August 11, 2022.

Heropanti 2 v/s Mayday:

Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2 will be set at the box office on April 29, 2022. The movie is directed by Ahmad Khan and will feature Tara Sutaria and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. While Ajay Devgn will return to his director’s chair with Mayday starring Rakul Preet Singh and Amitabh Bachchan.
