New Delhi: Greta Gerwig’s Barbie is finally out on OTT. The biggest film of the year, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as the Mattle dolls Barbie and Ken is now available to rent on Prime Video for INR 499. The film was released on July 21 alongside Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and created a trend that came to be known as Barbenheimer.
On Tuesday, Prime Video shared a poster of Barbie on its social media account and wrote the caption, Did we hear you say hi Barbie? Barbie is now available on Prime Video.
For the Barbie director, Greta Gerwig became the first female director to make a film that collected Rs 1 billion dollars at the global box office. Barbie also features an ensemble cast including America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Dua Lipa Emerald Fennel, Issa Rae, Kate MC Kinnon, Michael Cera, and Will Ferrell. The film revolves around the story of Barbie and Ken who go on a journey of self-discovery to the real world.

Barbie was released in theatres on July 21 this year and broke all the records in terms of box office collection. It also broke the 1.4 billion dollar record made by Avengers: Age of Ultron. The movie received much praise from the critics but failed to collect at India’s box office. It minted only 45.5 crore net receipt in India due to Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer which hit the theatres on the same day. Barbie became so popular worldwide due to its engaging storyline despite of clash with nolan’s oppenheimer.
