New Delhi: An amazing announcement about the first virtual concert by a K-pop artist was made on November 15, which captivated BLINKs (BLACKPINK fans) across the globe. Meta (formerly Facebook) and the Diamond Bros., an Emmy Award-winning production, have joined forces to bring this revolutionary event. The December event is going to be a special treat for BLINKs.

Along with Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa performing separately, the concerts will include live renditions of their Billboard Hot 100 singles like Pink Venom, Kill This Love, and How You Like That.

In this unique virtual reality encore performance, BLACKPINK will reenact their last concert in Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome as part of their Born Pink global tour. Mark Zuckerberg (CEO and co-founder of Meta) has a goal of creating a virtual place, and this event is in line with that vision. Within this imagined virtual world, fans can explore and engage in real-time interactions using their avatars.

Exclusive to Meta Horizon Worlds’ Music Valley, this revolutionary concert experience will provide Meta Quest VR headset users in some places with an unmatched front-row feeling. By providing a one-of-a-kind, futuristic concert experience, this endeavour marks a giant leap forward in fusing state-of-the-art technology with entertainment.

A statement from BLACKPINK expressed their joy for the chance to interact with a wider worldwide audience and share their music in a whole new and engaging manner, as they delve into the dynamic domain of virtual reality. Their virtual reality performance, they said, is more than just a spectacle; it’s an extension of the genuine care and passion they brought to their tour.

On December 26 at 5 p.m. PT, BLACKPINK: A VR Encore will make its virtual reality debut. The show is expected to last about 70 minutes. Replays of the virtual concert will be available for one month after the event for those who will miss the live broadcast.
