New Delhi: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has issued notice to filmmaker Karan Johar for questioning, in connection with alleged drug party at his residence in 2019.
The party video had gone viral, which also featured many Bollywood personalities. Karan Johar has to respond to the notice by December 18. The notice was sent on December 16.
The director-producer isn’t required to appear physically at the NCB office, he can send his representative. Reports said that Karan has been asked to produce electronic device which were used to shoot the party video.
Karan Johar’s name reportedly surfaced after NCB interrogated and arrested Kshitij Ravi Prasad in the drug case. Kshitij was associated with Dharma Productions’ sister concern Dharmatic Entertainment.
The party was attended by Bollywood stars, including Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor, Zoya Akhtar, Ayan Mukerji, among others.
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA Manjinder Singh attacked Karan over the video and asked police to take cognizance of the party where drugs were allegedly being used.
