New Delhi: Given its inspiration from the eponymous novel by the renowned Australian author Trent Dalton—whose work not only dominated the bestseller list but also set a record as the fastest-selling debut novel to date—Boy Swallows Universe is sure to be one of the most eagerly anticipated Netflix adaptations of the year.
Lee Tiger Halley, Phoebe Tonkin, Simon Baker, Felix Cameron, Travis Fimmel, Bryan Brown, and Christopher James Baker are just a few of the A-listers in the eight-part adaption. The first episode of Boy Swallows Universe will air on Netflix beginning on January 11, 2024.

Storyline
The series gave audiences a much-needed glimpse into the seedy side of 1980s Australia, with a single teaser and an official trailer that showed both the criminal underworld and the innocence that was blossoming within it. The Australian city of Brisbane serves as the backdrop for the exciting and perhaps groundbreaking series Boy Swallows Universe.
The story follows the Bell family, with a particular emphasis on little Eli Bell as he confronts the challenges at an early age. He comes from a broken family: his mom struggles with addiction, his dad isn’t there, his sibling can’t speak, his compassionate stepfather sells heroin, and their babysitter is a convicted killer.
Still, Eli Bell is hell-bent on being an independent individual and has no intention of giving up on his inherent goodness. However, when the dust settles, it does not recognise the value of well-meaning efforts. A similar fate befalls Eli’s family, particularly in the aftermath of the kidnapping of his stepfather, the detention of his mother, and the alcoholic and anxious father.
