Because the society is so dominated by men, I don’t think people comprehend the life and emotions of a working mother. I wish employers offered more assistance to women. The workplace culture may be extremely demanding, despite the fact that I know many guys who are sympathetic and nice to women. I hope that society as a whole would pay greater attention to the value of raising children.

Although it feels wonderful, at first you are just overcome with guilt—the type you have never experienced before. You have the feeling of “Oh my God! What’s my kid up to? You think to yourself, “I must deal with work because I am a workaholic,” when you are with your child.

Being able to balance parenting and work gave me confidence. In fact, a year after giving birth, I agreed to work with Karan on Kaal Dhamaal! But I felt guilty about being a working mother. So I made the most of my time with Arhaan.

“My top priority when Saira was born was to be there for her in her early years. Therefore, that criteria became a major factor in judging my role selections. Going to work and leaving Saira had to be worthwhile.”

After years of being glossy and fit on film, I withdrew because I lacked the courage to face the world’s judgement. The amazing thing is that you need to reach your lowest point before realising you can climb out of it. It’s a struggle. a challenge.
