Clipped OTT Release Date: Watch the downfall of Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling in this biographical sports drama

Clipped OTT Release Date: On June 4, 2024, Tuesday, Clipped will finally make its debut. Hulu in the US, Disney Plus Hotstar in the UK, and in other countries will be the only places it airs.

New Delhi: Based on the ESPN 30 for 30 podcasts – The Sterling Affairs, Gina Welch’s created American sports drama miniseries Clipped is set to debut on June 4, on FX on Hulu.

It’s been a decade since the Donald Sterling videos stunned the NBA and started a larger discussion about racism in professional sports. There was a time when Sterling owned the Los Angeles Clippers. In 2014, recordings of him making racist and derogatory comments—to both his teammates and fans of the sport—were released by his wife and staff V. Stiviano. Sterling saw the rapid demise of the team he had helped establish as players pushed for action from league officials and public disapproval grew.

With A-listers like Ed O’Neill and Laurence Fishburne playing key parts, Clipped may be a hit with viewers.

Plot

In Clipped, we go behind the scenes of the racist comments made by an infamous NBA owner, which were recorded and then broadcast across the globe. This limited series, which is based on the popular ESPN 30 for 30 podcast – The Sterling Affairs, follows a group of individuals as they try to win games while going up against the league’s most cursed team and a dysfunctional basketball organization.

In 2013, the legendary Doc Rivers became the head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers. Rivers has the pieces necessary to win the franchise’s first title with a promising lineup of strong personalities.

Donald Sterling, the team’s owner, is notoriously cheap, unstable, and a bully. Doc makes it a personal goal to minimize Sterling’s impact to win. V. Stiviano and Sterling’s 60-year-old business associate Shelly clash courtside. Clipped is a meme-based story of racial reckoning in which V. and the Sterlings discover who has power in the internet age and Rivers and his players wonder if expelling one bad apple brings about the media-desired change.
