New Delhi: American comedian Bill Maher who is famous for his political talk show Real Time with Bill Maher has invited criticism for himself for making a remark related to the LGBTQ community. He said that as the number of kids identifying as transgender is going up, ”we will all be gay in 2054.”

Bill further said the answer of kids to his parents on what they wanted to be when they grow up has now changed. He added, ”It is okay to raise question on a different topic and involves children the answer can’t always be that anyone from a marginalized community is automatically right trump card might drop the end of the discussion because we are literally experimenting on children.”

Based on the data from sources, Maher explained, ”The LGBT population of the USA seems to be roughly doubling every generation. Less than one percent of Americans born before 1946, earlier the date of birth of Joe Biden, identify that way, 2.6 pecent of boomers do, 4.2 of Gen X, 10.5 of millennials and 20.8 percent of Gen z, which means if we follow this trajectory, we will all be gay in 2054.”

On the bill’s remark, many people on Twitter shared their views.

”I’m from Ohio. Born and raised, I came to California because it’s safer here in comparison! Just because trans/lgbtq people are becoming more visible doesn’t mean we just suddenly came to be, we’ve always existed!.” said a user namely Mariah Darling.

”The poll didn’t say 20% of the population is trans. It said 20% of Gen Z identifies as LGBTQ+. Not the same thing. Not even close,” wrote another Twitter user.
