Days after winning Oscar, Ram Charan, and Chiranjeevi pays a visit to Home Minister Amit Shah

Following their meeting, Home Minister Shah went onto Twitter and posted a few photos with the two celebrities.

New Delhi: RRR star Ram Charan has returned to India just days after Naatu Naatu from his film won an Oscar. The actor met with Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday evening. Chiranjeevi, his father, also joined him.

Following their meeting, Home Minister Shah went onto Twitter and posted a few photos with the two celebrities. He titled Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan the ‘two legends of Indian cinema’ and captioned, “The Telugu film industry has significantly influenced India’s culture & economy. Have congratulated Ram Charan on the Oscar win for the Naatu-Naatu song and the phenomenal success of the ‘RRR'”.


In response to Shah’s tweet, Ram Charan stated that meeting the Home Minister was a great honour for him. “Thank you sir for recognising the efforts of the @RRRMovie team.” “The actor went on to say.

Chiranjeevi also tweeted photos from their meeting with HM Shah, writing, “Thank you Shri @AmitShah ji for your Hearty Wishes & Blessings to @AlwaysRamCharan on behalf of Team #RRR for a successful Oscar Campaign & bringing home the First Ever Oscar for an Indian Production!” I’m overjoyed to be there on this special day!”


Ram Charan arrived back in Mumbai from Los Angeles on Friday morning. He was photographed with his wife, Upasana Kamineni, at the Delhi airport. Hundreds of their fans welcomed them with open arms. “I am pleased and happy,” Ram Charan said outside Delhi airport about Naatu Naatu’s legendary Oscar win. Thank you very much. M.M. Keeravani, S.S. Rajamouli, and Chandrabose have made us proud. We went to the red carpet and brought an Oscar to India as a result of their efforts.”
