New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone has been hitting the headlines from the last couple of days for all the wrong reasons. Deepika, who had appeared before NCB on Saturday, September 26, 2020, had admitted to being part of the famous WhatsApp group, where ‘D’ asked ‘K’ about ‘maal’.

Now, as per the reports in the media, Deepika broke down three times during the interrogation, however, she was asked by the officials not to play the ’emotional card’. Deepika in her statement accepted that she did send those messages to her then manager, Karishma but refused consumption of any narcotics substance.

The actress was grilled for more than 5 hours and reports suggest that Deepika Padukone cried thrice during her questioning with the NCB.

According to the latest report, as Deepika broke down during her probe, the actress was asked not to play the “emotional card” by the NCB officials.

The NCB asked her if she was procuring the drugs for her personal consumption or for someone else and since when she has been using these substances and who all were the persons who provided her these drugs. She was also asked for how long she has known Karishma and Sushant`s former talent manager Jaya Saha, who worked with Kwan Talent Management Agency.

“Mobile phones of Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, Karishma Prakash, Simone Khambatta and Jaya Shah have been seized,” the NCB official said. More than 18 people have been arrested so far by the NCB in connection with the Bollywood drug case, Mutha Ashok Jain, Deputy DG, South-Western Region of NCB said on Saturday.

The statements of Karishma Prakash, Sara Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Shraddha Kapoor have been recorded, he said.

“The statements of Karishma Prakash, Sara Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Shraddha Kapoor have been recorded. Kshitij Prasad has been placed under arrested after questioning. No fresh summon has been issued today. We have arrested more than 18 people,” Jain said.

The ED had on July 31 registered an Enforcement Case Information Report in the late actor’s death case after an FIR was filed by Rajput’s father KK Singh against Rhea Chakraborty in Bihar on July 28. Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14.
