New Delhi: Demon Lord 2099 or Maou 2099 is a sci-fi action and fantasy-based light novel, now getting its anime adaptation this fall in October 2o24. Originally having started out as a light novel, Demon Lord 2099 quickly gained favor for its sci-fi plot and action based on the elements of fantasy.
It released its manga adaptation by Yutaka Sakurai in March 2023. Before that, it was serialized online by Kiiro Akashiro.
The anime was adapted and is set to hit streaming platforms as a television series in October this year.

Plot
In the magical fantasy world of Alneath, the villainous Demon Lord Veltol Velvet Velsvalt was slain in battle by the hero Gram. 500 years later after his ‘demise’ his subordinate and friend, Machina Soleige uses magic to revive Veltol and bring him back to the world of the living.
Therefore in the year 2099, the cyberpunk city of Shinjuku, bedecked with blaring neon signs, skyscrapers that tower over the skies, and the latest technology unbeatable anywhere else, chaos strews in this fused era of technological advances, when the legendary demon lord Veltol makes a grand entry for the second time after 5 centuries have gone by.
What he hasn’t been prepared for is that this world, infused with advanced technology and things beyond imaginable is nothing like the world he once sought to conquer. With the city of Shinjuku bridled in new forces of time and magic undefeatable, Veltol is not one to give up so easily.
With his friend Machina and her fellow hacker companion Takahashi, the demon lord is determined to get the world where it belongs, right in the palm of his hand like it once was.
