Despite working in industry for so long, I lost roles due to low count of social media followers: Dishank Arora

In an exclusive chat with Newsroompost,“Jiji Maa” and “Kaisi Ye Yaariyan” actor Dishak Arora reveals the reason for his break from Television

New Delhi: Dishank Arora, who has spent almost ten years in the Television industry and has been the lead of shows like “Jiji Maa” and “Raja Beta” has taken a break from daily soap for quite some time now. However, he is regularly seen in ads for big brands like “Dominoz, “Ariel” and many others.

Talking about his break Dishak reveals “It’s a big question in my life now. A lot of people ask me. What are you doing these days? People outside the industry do not know that there are a lot of other things that happen behind the scenes, like reading scripts and meeting people. Also recently I played Lakshman in a Ramleela at Lal Qila during Dussera and it was a surreal experience.”

Adding more on his Ramleela experience Dishank said “I was very anxious as it was the first time I was performing live for a play on stage. Moreover, the script was written in Devanagari. We are used to reading Hindi scripts written in Roman, so it was a big switch for me. I struggled with it but with the right guidance and rehearsal I managed to do it well.”

Dishank also went to Ayodhya with the cast and crew of Ramleela for Deepotsav. It was an out-of-the-world experience for him when Yogi Adityanath put ‘tilak’ on his forehead. Dishank who has recently done multiple big ads like Ariel and Dominoz has been very selective about his work. Generally, actors do not have the privilege to wait so long for good work. However, Dishank has parents as his support, both financially and mentally.

Despite being an actor Dishank is not very active on social media. He thinks that people expose their personal life a bit too much. He also revealed that he lost many roles in TV as his social media followers were not as per the maker’s expectations.
