‘Drive My Car’ to ‘Radhe Shyam’: 5 heartfelt dramas arriving on Amazon, Netflix, Aha, Zee5, and Sony LIV

New Delhi: In the 94th Academy Awards, which concluded on Monday at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, the Japanese film ‘Drive My Car’ nabbed the Best International Feature Film award for Oscars 2022.

The emotional drama has become the second movie from Japan to grace the honor in the category, which was earlier known as Best Foreign Language Film.

Meanwhile, luckily for the digital audience, the film is all set to be released on OTT as well, that too on the very first day of the forthcoming month of April.

Also, apart from ‘Drive My Car’, a whole good chunk of wholehearted drama movies are on the way to stream on multiple OTT platforms.

The plot of the film revolves around an actor-director who faces the other side of his otherwise perfect marriage after the death of his beloved wife. He further develops a friendship with a young girl who takes up the job of driver for him, while he is directing Anton Checkhov’s ‘Uncle Vanya’ in Hiroshima.

2. Hey Sinamika 

Platform: Netflix

Release Date: April 1

The much-awaited film marks the directorial debut of Choreographer Brinda and is produced by Jio Studios in association with Global One Studios. The drama which is touted to be a romantic comedy features Dulquer Salmaan, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles.

3. Member Rameshan 9 am Ward

Platform: Zee5

Release Date: April 1

The story of the upcoming Malayalam comedy-drama revolves around an individual who accidentally enters into local politics and the circumstances that occur after that. Aby Treesa Paul and Anto Jose Periera directorial stars Arjun Asokan, Johny Antony, Indrans, and Chemban Vinod Jose in the lead roles.

4. Radhe Shyam 

Platform: Amazon Prime

Release Date: April 1

The intriguing plot of the film revolves around a genius palmist who can predict anything, even the smallest of details like no other person can do. However, things start to take a sharp turn when the love of his life leads to a clash between love and fate. Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, the film features Prabhas and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles.

5. Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu

Release Date: April 2

The comedy-drama brings in a new concept of matchmaking wherein the groom’s family will be pleasing the bride’s side, while the family of the bride has the better say in all the matters. The film features Sharwanand and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles.
