New Delhi: After delivering two back-to-back blockbusters this year, Shah Rukh Khan arrived on the big screens for the third time with his third movie of the year Dunki.
The Rajkumar Hirani directorial graced the theaters yesterday on 21 December and ever since then, Shah Rukh’s fans are going gaga about Shah Rukh’s acting & various other aspects of the movie.

Dunki vs Jawan vs Pathan
Despite receiving stellar reviews from cinema-goers as well as movie critics, Dunki has amassed a relativity lesser total of Rs 30 crore at the Box office on the opening day.
With this, the Tapsee Pannu starrer has become SRK’s lowest opening movie of the year with its Day 1 collection standing nowhere in comparison with his earlier mass action movies Jawan and Pathan.
For the unversed, Shah Rukh’s Pathan made a whopping Rs 57 crore at the domestic BO while his September release Jawan even went past that figure and raked in Rs 75 crore (domestic) from the ticket window on day 1.

Dunki’s underwhelming BO performance in comparison with Shah Rukh’s Jawan and Pathan was pretty much expected as unlike these two blockbuster flicks, the Rajkumar Hirani directorial has been released only in the Hindi Language
Moreover, given the film’s genre, it was not expected to perform well in the mass-centric regions of the country and the same is another major factor behind its average opening figures at the Box office.
However, considering the approaching winter vacation & festive season, one can expect a decent surge in Dunki’s collection in the coming days with its positive word of mouth coming into the picture simuntaniously.
SRK to earn 2.5 thousand crores from the BO this year?
Meanwhile, Despite Dunki’s underwhelming BO collection on day 1, 2023 has been a remarkable year in the three-decade-long acting career of Bollywood Star Shah Rukh Khan.
While his January release Pathan’s global BO collection stands tall at Rs 1050 crore, the actor’s second movie Jawan, which is Shah Rukh’s most successful movie of all time, has garnered a thumping Rs 1,150 crore rupees worldwide.
Now, with Dunki amassing Rs 30 crore rupees (domestic) on its first day, the combined BO collection of all three movies the 57-year-old actor this year has moved past the colossal figure of Rs 2,230 crore (approx).
This is the all-time high amount of money a Bollywood actor has earned with his movies in a particular year and with 8 days still left in the arrival of 2024, the chances of SRK’s 2023 flicks collection touching the mark of 2,500 crore looks very much possible.
