Falguni Pathak upset with Neha Kakkar over the remix of ‘Maine Payal Hai Chhankai’

The legendary singer reposted a couple of Instagram stories criticizing Neha’s remix version, Falguni has opened up about her views on ‘O Sajna.’

New Delhi: One of the most loved singers Falguni Pathak, who has made us fall in love with her voice is kind of upset this time. Falguni is not happy with Neha Kakkar’s new music video ‘O Sajna’ which is the recreation of the former’s iconic song ‘Maine Payal Hai Chhankai.’ The legendary singer reposted a couple of Instagram stories criticizing Neha’s remix version, Falguni has opened up about her views on ‘O Sajna.’

While talking to Pinkvilla, Falguni talked about reposting reels and sharing stories slamming Neha Kakkar’s recreation. She stated, “I feel overwhelmed and touched on receiving so much love from all over for the song, so had to share their feelings.”

Besides, she added that she was not approached by the makers of ‘O Sajna.’ Falguni, in one of her reshared stories where her fan asked to sue Neha Kakkar, to which she responded to Pinkvilla, “I wish I could but the rights are not with me.”

When further asked whether the makers or Neha Kakkar tried to reach out to her after seeing her stories about the remixed version, she said, “No.”

In 1999, the original song was released and it featured television actor Vivan Bhatena. The song was played out in a puppet show in college and since then was a massive hit with fans still listening to them.

While talking about the song to a media portal, Neha said, “I had a blast singing and filming the music video of ‘O Sajna’. With the kind of response and love the young audience showered on the teaser yesterday at the college event, I’m overjoyed! It’s fun, energetic, and vibrant and I’m confident people are going to love it.”


Tanishk Bagchi stated, “With a track like ‘O Sajna’ you have to walk the fine line between reviving nostalgia yet keeping it contemporary and I’m happy with the way the song has turned out.”
