New Delhi: Arjun Reddy star Vijay Devarakonda recently graced the big screens alongside Mrunal Thakur in Parsuram’s latest Telugu family drama Family Star.
The star-studded movie arrived in the cinemas amid massive buzz on 5 April 2024 but unfortunately failed to pull out anything remarkable during the first week of its theatrical run.
Made on a whopping budget of Rs 50 crore, the Telugu flicker so far has only amassed Rs 17 crore & if it fails to pick momentum in its second week, it can even end up becoming the 5th consecutive BO failure for the popular actor.

Meanwhile, with Family Star continuing its struggle to pull crowds into theaters, its makers have reportedly sold its digital rights to Netflix for a decent price.
This means that after completing its journey at the Box Office, the family drama will make its digital debut on Netflix, allowing viewers to enjoy it from the comfort of their homes with nothing else but a subscription to the Platform’s services.

In Family Star, we see the story of a middle-class architect Govardhan (Vijay) who wants to achieve big in life but his harsh reality, filled with family problems, financial crisis, and instability has always held him back.
One fine day, a rich entrepreneur Indu (Mrunal) rents the top of Govardhan’s house and gradually becomes attached to him and his family. With time, the two also develop feelings for one another and Govardhan eventually decides to confess his love for his lady.
However, just when he is about to propose to Indu, a shocking truth about her comes forward & leaves their relationship in shambles.
What is the harsh truth that has made Govardhan and Indu hate each other? Is it the end of their love story? Or they will somehow find a way to clear the misunderstanding and be together once again? the film will answer all these questions.

Besides Vijay and Mrunal starring as the lead pair, The Family star sees a skilled cast with ace actors like Divyansha Kaushik, Jagapathi Babu, Vennela Kishore, Raja Chembolu, Ravi Prakash and Ajay Gosh playing pivotal roles. Dil Raju and Sirish have produced the movie under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations.
