From ‘Gaslight’ to ‘War Sailor’: Check 5 OTT films, web series to watch on April’s first weekend

New Delhi: Weekends are for joy and rest after hectic work of five days in the week. To add to your fun time, OTT platforms serve you with new content ranging from rom-coms to crime thrillers. OTT platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and Disney+ Hotstar are streaming more binge-worthy content this weekend and you would not want to miss it.

From ‘Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat’ to ‘War Sailor’, there is a whole new range of content coming your way. Here are five fun-to-watch films and web series for this weekend:

1. Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat

Anurag Kashyap shows two parallel stories of modern love featuring Alaya F and Karan Mehta. The stories explore the themes of social status, caste and inequality while two youngsters fall for each other. The film also stars Vicky Kaushal as the titular character of DJ Mohabbat.

2. Gaslight

‘Gaslight’ is a murder mystery with a number of suspects and the story revolves around a girl coming back to her home just to find her father dead. The film has elements of horror and thrill, and stars Sara Ali Khan, Chitrangada Singh and Vikrant Massey in pivotal roles.

The film is directed by Pavan Kirpalani and is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.

3. Enkilum Chandrike

‘Enkilum Chandrike’ is a light-hearted rom-com and a story of a club in a fictional village and incidents revolving around Chandrika’s marriage. Directed by Adithyan Chandrashekhar, the Malayalam film stars Basil Joseph, Tanvi Ram, Saiju Kurup and others.

The film is streamin on Malayalam OTT platform Manorama Max.

4. Heaven and Hell: Soul Exchange

Japanese crime-drama, originally named ‘Tengoku to Jigoku/Saiko na Faturi’, is a mini-series with 10 episodes. The series follows Ayako Mochizuki investigating a murder case with Haruto Hidaka as a suspect.

Originally released in 2021 in Japan, the series will stream on Netfilx from April 1.

5. War Sailor

The series follows a sailor Alfred in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean when World War II breaks out and the sailors get stuck without any weapons. The show is in Norwegian, German and English languages and is originally titled ‘Krigsseileren’.

The show will stream on Netflix from April 2 onwards.
