Happy Birthday Jaya Bachchan: Navya Naveli Nanda wishes her Nani – ‘real powerhouse’ (PICs)

New Delhi: Navya Naveli Nanda wished her grandma Jaya Bachchan a happy 75th birthday. Navya shared a retro grayscale photo of Jaya on Instagram on Saturday. The image is a shot from the 1972 movie Shor, starring Jaya and Manoj Kumar. Jaya donned a saree, dark sunglasses, and a hat in the closeup portrait.

Jaya shifted her gaze to the side, far away from the camera. Navya Naveli Nanda wrote in the photo, “Happy birthday, Naani.” (red heart emoji). The real powerhouse. The glue that holds us all together. “I love you!” Sonali Bendre, Maheep Kapoor, and Shanaya Kapoor all responded to the tweet with red heart emojis.

In 1973, Jaya married actor Amitabh Bachchan. They had their first child, Shweta Bachchan, in 1974, and their second child, Abhishek Bachchan, in 1976. Shweta married Nikhil Nanda, a businessman. They have two kids: Navya and Agastya Nanda. Aishwarya Rai is Abhishek’s wife. Aaradhya Bachchan is their daughter.

Jaya made her Bollywood début in 1971 with Guddi, directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. She has been in a number of films throughout the previous few decades. Jaya appeared in films such as Zanjeer and Abhimaan (1973), Chupke Chupke, Mili and Sholay (1975), and Silsila (1976). (1981). She resumed to acting after an almost two-decade hiatus with Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa (1998). Among many other movies, she has appeared in Fiza (2000), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), and Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003).

Jaya’s next appearance will be in Karan Johar’s forthcoming love film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, and Shabana Azmi also appear in the movie. The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on July 28, 2023.
