New Delhi: Recently, Hoichoi TV premiered the OTT thriller drama Homestay Murders. Homestay Murders, directed by Sayantan Ghosal, has become the go-to site for authentic Bengali entertainment online. The programme will, as the title indicates, focus on a murder mystery set in a homestay.
Plot & Review
Ananya, a homestay owned and operated by Mita and Kunal, is located in the heart of North Bengal. A diverse collection of tourists, including a young couple named Tony and Jiu, a businesswoman named Kuheli Mitra, an IPS officer named Kinjal, his friend Animesh, and Damini, a solo traveller, all meet up at the homestay. A murder occurs in the first place, and the police team attempted to approach Ananya homestay. This incident trapped the landlords, tourists, and other visitors along with the corpse and the killer.

The director does a great job setting the scene, gradually increasing the tension, and introducing all the necessary plot twists to make this a page-turning thriller. The programme has all the makings of a suspenseful thriller, and the mystery is well-executed. Even if it fails to give you the shivers, it will definitely keep you captivated. The soundtrack. Music ‘Sesh Nahi Je’ and the opening pictures have the feel of a traditional murder mystery, which is intriguing.

While the mystery is tightly woven, the other plot threads in the series are often neglected. The format used in the show is very common for murder mysteries. However, it takes some time for the true motivation to become clear. Another problem is that not all the characters are clearly defined. The contains some repetitive scenes that are not required. There are some unnecessary dialogues throughout the show. However, the stars also include Sohini, a renowned actress who delivered a fantastic performance.

In general, the series is entertaining; it can be seen in its entirety in a single sitting; moreover, it is highly engrossing. Some Twitter users also commented that you can more or less enjoy the series as a one-time watch.
