I Am Married…But! OTT Release: I Am Married…But! is an upcoming romantic comedy series set to premiere on Netflix on February 14, 2025, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Li Nien-hsiu directs the 12-episode series, and Deal Production produces it.  The series features Ko Chia-yen, Jasper Liu, Ko Shu-Chin, and Fu Meng-po in lead roles.

Plot

The story revolves around I-Ling. A vibrant, intelligent woman, she has spent three years in marriage.

However, her life isn’t the fairy tale she once envisioned. Since tying the knot, she has been living under the same roof as her in-laws.

It is a dynamic that brings out the worst in her marriage and leaves her questioning her life choices. Her husband, Zeng Xue-You is a kind but overly attached “mama’s boy.” Despite being well-meaning, his inability to set boundaries with his mother leaves I-Ling feeling suffocated.

Their once-passionate relationship now feels like a never-ending cycle of trivial arguments, unmet expectations, and routine disappointments. I-Ling’s frustrations lead her to toy with the idea of divorce every week, but she never follows through. This indecision stems from occasional moments of charm and tenderness from her husband, which keep her tethered to the relationship.

Just as she contemplates moving out and starting over, life throws her a curveball. Feeling invisible and unfulfilled, I-Ling impulsively creates a profile on a dating app.

She isn’t necessarily looking to cheat, but she craves validation and connection—something her marriage seems to lack. On the app, she connects with someone who feels like a soulmate.

Their conversations awakened I-Ling’s long-lost sense of adventure, wit, and self-worth.

The series uses humor, tender moments, and raw emotional honesty to address the challenges many married individuals face. The series doesn’t shy away from hard truths but balances them with lighthearted scenes, making it relatable and thought-provoking.

Viewers get to reflect on their relationships, the meaning of love, and the compromises they make in the name of stability.
