IF OTT Release Date: John Krasinski’s fantasy comedy If, which was available on rent on Amazon Prime Video since July 2024, is now available for watching on the same platform on a subscription basis.
This means that from today onwards, those who missed watching the film during its theatrical run can enjoy it directly from the comfort of their homes without spending any additional money other than their Amazon Prime subscription plan fee.
About the Movie
Offering viewers a unique blend of Live-action & animation, IF arrived in theaters earlier this year in May 2024. At the Box office, the comedy-drama performed decently & went on to amass a whopping USD 190 million against its budget of USD 110 million before concluding at the ticket windows.
In its cast, the film boasts a number of skilled actors including Liza Colón-Zayas, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Cailey Fleming, Ryan Reynolds, Krasinski, Fiona Shaw, Alan Kim, Louis Gossett, and Fiona Shaw in key roles.
Plot of the Movie
IF is the story of Bea, a 12-year-old girl who resides with her grandma post the unfortunate death of her mother who passed away after falling victim to cancer.
The movie shows how one day, Bea’s colorless life changes completely when she witnesses a man named Cal with a giant purple colored creature. Soon after, the girl also begins to see several other alien-like creatures in her surroundings, which intrigues her & triggers her curiosity over time.
Eventually, Cal spills the beans and tells Bea that he has been lately working on a project related to imaginary friends. Following that, we see the two embarking on a nostalgic journey, looking for the forgotten imaginary friend of the 12-year-old about whom she forgot after growing up.
