Indian Matchmaking star Pradhyuman Maloo faces allegations of domestic violence from wife Ashima Chauhaan

Ashima Chauhaan has reportedly filed an FIR (First Information Report) against Pradhyuman Maloo and his family with the Mumbai Police, accusing them of domestic violence.

New Delhi: Pradhyuman Maloo, known for his appearance on the popular show Indian Matchmaking, is currently at the center of serious allegations of domestic violence leveled against him by his wife Ashima Chauhaan. The reality TV personality gained recognition through the show’s first season in 2020, where he voiced his high expectations for a prospective life partner. Although his on-screen journey didn’t culminate in a successful match, off-screen, he found love with Ashima Chauhaan, and the two tied the knot. Their relationship unfolded in the second season of the series, where they shared their romantic journey. However, recent reports indicate a distressing turn of events.

Ashima Chauhaan has reportedly filed an FIR (First Information Report) against Pradhyuman Maloo and his family with the Mumbai Police, accusing them of domestic violence. According to information from Hindustan Times, Ashima’s accusations extend to claims of physical and emotional abuse, along with allegations of blackmail and harassment. The incident marks a drastic departure from the public image portrayed during their appearance on Indian Matchmaking.

The couple’s relationship timeline reveals that they had been together for two years prior to their marriage, which took place in Udaipur in February 2022. However, Ashima’s recent actions indicate a substantial breakdown in their marital union. As revealed in the FIR, she left in September 2022, with her allegations pointing toward disturbing instances of mistreatment.

The legal representative of Ashima has characterized the charges in the FIR as centered around “domestic violence and constant mental and physical abuse.” The advocate further clarified that the matter is currently under investigation. In the wake of these allegations, Ashima has chosen to stay with her family in Bengaluru.

When questioned about the allegations, Pradhyuman Maloo expressed his lack of awareness regarding the FIR. He conveyed that he believes they are in discussions with legal representatives to navigate and resolve their marital difficulties amicably.

Notably, Ashima Chauhaan had previously shared insights into their blossoming relationship in an interview with Cosmopolitan Middle East. She recounted their initial meeting at a friend’s gathering, emphasizing Pradhyuman’s unexpected sense of humor and shared interests that transcended his business-oriented background.

As the legal proceedings unfold, these accusations have drawn attention not only to the personal lives of the individuals involved but also to the broader issue of domestic violence. The unfolding situation has sparked discussions about the responsibilities and ethical considerations that come with the platform of reality TV and the impact on participants’ lives both during and after their appearances on such shows.
