5 instances from the past when famous South Indian actors became the talk of the town for using cuss words in their movies.

New Delhi: Vijay’s action thriller Leo is one of the most eagerly awaited movies of 2023. Two weeks ahead of its scheduled release on 15th October, the makers of the film raised up its hype further by dropping its compelling trailer on October 5 and making the fans buzz about the same.

Except for its action-packed scenes and compelling content, Leo’s trailer also garnered a lot of attention over a controversial dialogue mouthed by the movie’s lead actor Vijay.

The objectionable dialogue, in which superstar Vijay used a cuss word, made headlines soon after the trailer release and gave netizens a good reason to bash the movie’s dialogue writer for the same.

However, after facing heavy bashing and trolling by the fans on social media over the controversial dialogue, Leo’s makers soon swung into action and muted the same in the movie’s trailer.

With Vijay’s Cuss word from Leo grabbing all the attention while making rounds on social media, it’s a perfect time to revisit 5 instances from the past when famous South Indian actors became the talk of the town for using cuss words in their movies.

In the film, Jyothika, who was playing the character of an IPS officer leading the investigation of a underage rape case, was heard using a Tamil cuss word Th–dis@ which roughly translates to an Illegitimate child of a s-x worker. She was also bashed by the fans for the same.

 3. Kamal Hassan (Nayakan)

Kamal Hassan is the Tamil industry’s old hand versatile actor who has impressed the masses with his remarkable work in over 230 movies. In his 1987 release Nayakan, the superstar used the cuss word “fu-k” while speaking on the conditions of drug addicts with a number of suspended police officials.

4. Ajith (Mankatha)

Just like Vijay, veteran South Indian actor Ajith also landed himself in controversy after he used cuss words in one of his most successful movies Mankatha in which he played the antagonist for the first time in his acting career.
