New Delhi: ‘Kantara’, the Kannada film revolving around the culture of Kambla and Bhootha Kola, is doing well at the box office and is getting a positive response from the audience and critics. Rishab Shetty’s mythological action-adventure film has received appreciation from the Indian film fraternity and fans are poring in the cinemas to watch the film. The film stars Rishab Shetty, Sapthami Gowda, Achyuth Kumar, Kishore Kumar G, Pramod Shetty and others.
The film was initially released on September 30 in Kannada and looking at the response, Homable Films released it in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi as well. The Hindi version of the film has earned Rs 8.45 crore at the box office in just four days. Meanwhile, the film has entered the Rs 100 crore club which is good news for the Kannada film industry. ‘Kantara’ has proven to take forward the superhits trend for Kannada cinema after ‘KGF’ and ‘Charlie 777’.
The total gross collection of the film is estimated near Rs 120 crore and as it was made on a small budget of about Rs 15 crore, the film is earning huge profits. Not just the audience and fans, the film received positive word of mouth from actors Dhanush and Rana Daggubati which added to the fame.
‘Kantara’ is a story of a conflict between humans and nature where the protagonist is the rebel who works against nature. The conflict leads to war between villagers and evil forces, and what follows is an adventurous quest for restoring peace. The film is written and directed by Rishab Shetty. The film brings out a unique amalgamation of mythology showing Vishnu’s third incarnation called Varaha avatar, tribal communities and nature.
