New Delhi: Kareena Kapoor Khan, the iconic Bollywood actress, renowned for her journey from her debut in “Refugee” in 2000 to her reign in the Indian film industry, is now making waves in the world of OTT with the crime thriller “Jaane Jaan.” This thrilling venture also stars the talented Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat.
As Kareena Kapoor Khan steps into this exciting phase of her career, she recently fielded questions about her potential ventures into Hollywood and the influence of motherhood on her role as a protective mother in “Jaane Jaan.” Here’s what the Bollywood diva had to say.
During an interview with the Free Press Journal, Kareena Kapoor Khan revealed that, despite her illustrious career, she harbors “no temptations” to venture into Hollywood. Her jam-packed schedule in the Indian film industry leaves little room for Hollywood pursuits. She further explained, “There are no temptations as I am very busy doing stuff here. Also, I am a mother of two, therefore, I have to give them time. They are too young now.”
As a devoted mother to her sons Jeh and Taimur, Kareena was asked if her real-life motherhood experiences influenced her portrayal of a protective mother in her upcoming Netflix project, “Jaane Jaan.” Her response highlighted the distinction between her personal life and her professional endeavors. She said, “I am sure. I have played a mother before even in ‘Ra One.’ I don’t really connect my personal life to my work; it’s very different. Yes, maybe picking up some real motherly act happens; there is no conscious effort to pick up anything that I do as a real mom. Subconsciously it may come into play.”
Kareena Kapoor Khan expressed her excitement as “everything has fallen in place” for her upcoming project. She had longed to work on a thriller with director Sujoy Ghosh, and “Jaane Jaan” emerged as the perfect thriller.
Her anticipation is palpable as the film is set to release on September 21, 2023, coinciding with her 43rd birthday. Kareena commented, “This film has been with Sujoy for ten years, but when he couldn’t put the cast together, he put this film on the back burner. I am happy that everything has fallen in place. I always wanted to do a thriller with Sujoy as he did a good job in ‘Kahaani.’ This was a perfect thriller with the right mood for us.”
